Within the properties window, select the Levels tab. Play with these settings a little more to get the best output. So, how do we fix the loud action and sound effects vs the soft-spoken low volume dialogue? We can also do it using the normalize volume option but the compressorвЂ™s better. We use the compressor tool under the audio effects and filters to fix this issue. Well, there is a solution for fixing the loud action and quiet dialogue volume using VLC Media Player. You pop in a DVD for your favorite movie, load it up in VLC to play it and as soon as there are some sound effects, they ring your ears.

If Zoom is not picking up your microphone, you can select another microphone from the menu or adjust the input level.Have you ever been bugged by the fact that the dialogues in the movies are quiet, but the action scenes and sound effects are LOUD? We have all noticed this at one point in time.

In the microphone section, you will see the blue Input Level bar move when Zoom is picking up audio.

If you are on on Mac OS 10.14 Mojave or earlier and can't access the microphone, check your operating system permissions to confirm that Zoom has access to the microphone.

Check Automatically adjust microphone settings if you want Zoom to adjust the input volume automatically.

You can select another microphone from the menu or adjust the input level. Click Recording when you are done and it will play back.

Click Test Mic to test your microphone.

In the Microphone section, you will see the green Input Level bar move when Zoom is picking up audio.

If you cannot hear it, select a different speaker from the menu or adjust the Volume.

Click Test Speaker to play a test tone.

In the meeting controls, click the arrow next to Mute/ Unmute.

You can access your audio settings and test your audio when you are already in a meeting.

Follow the sections below to test your speaker or microphone.

Click your profile picture, then click Settings.

To test your audio, navigate to your audio settings before or during a meeting:

Click Join with Computer AudioВ to join the test meeting with the selected microphone and speakers.

Click Join with Computer audio to exit the speaker and microphone test.

If you don't hear an audio replay, use the drop-down menu or click NoВ to switch microphones until you hear the reply.

If you don't hear the ringtone, use the drop-down menu or click NoВ to switch speakers until you hear the ringtone.В Click YesВ to continue to the microphone test.

The meeting will display a pop-up window to test your speakers.

After joining a meeting, click Test Speaker and Microphone.
